    Notice of appearance mortgage company

    Filed Chapter 7 on 2/2/12 341 meeting is 3/14/ I got a letter today from a attorney for my mortgage company saying Notice of Appearance and request for notice. I am gving up the home. Anyone know what this means? Anything to worry about?

    It's nothing to worry about. The attorney is just requesting notice of things that happen in your case.

      Oh good thats a relief. So I guess he doesn't actually fly in and show up in person then.

        No.
        This is SOP for some creditors. When I filed, a lawfirm in Pa. that represented AMEX filed a notice of appearence.

            So is the purpose for them to see if the case is dismissed so they can go after you?

              The purpose is so they'll be kept updated on the progress of your case. That does include if it was dismissed.

                It also includes getting notice if your case is declared an asset case so they will know to file a claim on behalf of their client.
