I plan to file for chapter 7 soon and want to sit down with a couple lawyers, anyone know of any affordable ones in NYC?

Call the Clerk of the Court for your BK district, and ask for a list of recommended attorneys. While they cannot differentiate between this one and that one, the odds are that you will end up with a list of the attorneys that the Clerk's office like dealing with. They know the ones that are professional, prepared, and on time. Likewise, they also know the ones that are rude, discourteous, ill-prepared, and slip-shod in their paperwork. Remember that the Clerks office deal with these people every day.
