go ahead and sign up for a PACER account. Will need to keep track of what is going on with your case.. Also, very interesting info there as well. Here is the link: http://pacer.psc.uscourts.gov/

I take it you have already completed the pre-bk course? if so, go ahead and tackle the pre-discharge money management course and get it out of the way. InCharge offers an online courese that is very good and only $25.. I would recommend that one. Here is their link: http://www.personalfinanceeducation....lt.aspx?bhcp=1

After that get ready for the 341 meeting. Do a search here for 341 and read up on peoples experiences and you will find it is not an evil thing at all.. I made a mountain out of a mole hill with mine and it was a breeze, 5 minutes max!!

ASK QUESTIONS!! people here a GREAT and the knowledge is unreal..

Cleaning up credit? You can start but realize there are going to be lots of changes over the next few months. You may actually wanna wait to start disputing actual accounts. Maybe tackle address info right now.. Also, sign up for truecredit.com. You can sign up through WalMart Financial Services for a reduced monthly fee. I have found that a great resource.. You can monitor all three reports and pull all three daily for the subscription price. Here is a link: http://www.truecredit.com/services/c...lmart&loc=1486

Relax and realize you did something that you had to do and only good can come from this!

Sending you my best wishes and if there is anything I can do to help out, just let me know..

I think, if I remember correctly, you have to complete the Debtor Education class within 45 days of your 341, or maybe it's 15 days before your 60 day Creditor Objection period ends. But the Debtor Education class has to be completed and the Cert on file with the Court before you can get your discharge.

There are some things, like Ga said, that you can work on cleaning up on your Credit Reports. But I'm learning from others that post here, during the actual BK time period, lots of changes take place, on a daily basis. So while you may sign up for a Credit Monitoring service and keep an eye on what's going on, there may not be a lot of disputing to do with accts included in the BK. You can, however, check for name inaccuracies, address corrections, and any old accts not included in BK that have been incorrectly reported in the past.

Some of the services are set up for on-line dispute. If you don't see a change that way then write letters and send them Certified mail. That's what I've been seeing from other folks posting here.

Some start with the Creditor. Sometimes the Creditor will fix the issue. Sometimes the Creditor changes the way they report and makes it look worse.

Some people go to the Credit Reporting Agencies. The CRA's are supposed to investigate disputes. If the Creditor doesn't respond, the CRA is supposed to remove whatever you disputed.

Also, you can place a short, 100 word statement on your Credit Reports to explain things. Like if you had a hardship of some sort, medical, job loss, etc, that lead to your BK, you can post that. But, from what I understand, Creditors hardly ever read or pay any attention to those statements. No harm in trying tho. Maybe the one that reads your comments is the one that gives you the Credit you need at a particular point on down the road.
