How many filed Ch. 7, with OVER the median income?

I was just curious to know how many people in here were over their states median income and were still able to file chapter 7 through passing the means test and so forth. Also, how much more over the median??

    Thanks!

We filed and we are over the state median by 10,000. we passed the means test and nothing was ever brought up about making over the state median. We just had our 341 meeting last week and I checked pacer today and the trustee says hes basically done with are case. No assets to disburse. I think as long as you dont have any disposable income it should be fine.

So far, so good for my wife... She doesn't work so the only income listed was my income through the means test. We used the "Marital Adjustment" which brought us under and kept her in Chapter 7. She was allowed to subtract the CC's in my name only and the car payment that was also only in my name.

She has 30 days until discharge and the trustee has already determined her to be a "no asset case" ...

I actually filed a chapter 7 and was over the median income here. Passed the means test and have had no problems.. Attorney told me it was no problem and everyone else, including the trustee, has been super supportive.
            Thanks,

I'm over by approx 7k. Pass the means test no problem. Atty says that as long as we have our ducks in a row, it should be smooth sailing.

We were well over the median income. We passed the means test, and the attorney filed for Chapter 7 without a second thought.

Did any of you filing Chap 7 and over the median income retain your house? How much were you under the homestead exemption?

I'll be keeping my house. Going with the federal exemptions, not even using half. Using remaining half for wildcard. Should be filing early next week.

There is a median income for each state--basically the average income in that state. Usually between 35-45K depending upon where you live.

When you did the means test, you look up that value to determine how much of the paperwork you need to complete on that form.
