filed my chapter 7 bankruptcy petition today!

My attorney answered every one of my questions....you all know me by now....I had pages of them. He went over all the schedules with me. He is very confident that my case will go smoothly.

He said he wished all his cases were this easy. He said I made his job easier by being so organized.

So I am grateful for this site, because i didn't have a clue until I came here for information.

I need that drink now!

Just keep in mind that today was just the day that you signed the documents for your attorney (and paid him) to represent you. It will be a few days (or about 2 weeks for me) until the BK petition is officially filed. Of course, since you have taken this step, you can now refer any collection calls to your attorney.

My petition was filed electronically yesterday.

He said I'd have a case number by the end of the week. No one is calling me yet. I have only missed payments on 2 accounts.
