I read the advice on this forum not to be a slave to Pacer or calling the court clerk...my Day 60 was Dec. 4...I got a letter from my attorney this week that I was discharged Dec. 9! The atty. heard electronically and said I would get a letter from the court, as was also advised here.
Yesterday the letter came. Oh, it is also "closed" as well. It's a very simple letter titled "order closing case." It says "the estate has been fully adminstered. Therefore the court orders: 1.(the trustee) is discharged as trustee of the estate; 2. the trustee's bond is cancelled; 3. the case is closed.
End of letter.
I was a below-the-median, no-asset Ch 7 so this is what my attorney said would happen and it did.
I am getting several letters from auto dealers (?) who would be happy to get me a new car despite my BK... and several letters from Capitol One offering a credit card for 22% (!) interest. So far that's about it.
I do very much enjoy the quiet of the telephone, which happened about 5 seconds after my filing on Aug. 30. Actually, the few collection calls I have had (I actually answer the phone now) have been for OTHER people. Oh, the irony...
Many thanks to all those who gave so freely of their time and advice and offered moral support. If anyone ever needs a wonderful attorney in the Houston area, please DM me!
And best wishes to everyone else starting this process. A better New Year to us all!!
