Will unexpected inheritance hold up our discharge?

    Hi All,

My dear father-in-law unexpectedly passed away in late October less than 2 weeks after our 341. We reported the possibility of an inheritance right away to our Trustee. We know we will be receiving approx. $20-$25K at some point over the next year. My question is will the inheritance hold up the discharge? We have been totally honest and open regarding everything. Today on pacer the trustee posted
Affidavit to Employ Trustee's Firm Filed by Trustees
Notice of Appearance and Request for Notice Filed by Trustee
When I opened up the link it looks like the Trustee appointed someone to handle the distribution of the inheritance.

We are supposed to be discharged next week!

I believe you will still receive your discharge but your case will not be closed. I "thought" I read that on here before.

    Sorry for your loss.

      Freddy03 is correct.

Inheritance will not hold up discharge, but your case will remain open for the Trustee to collect any proceeds and pay those over to creditors.
