Filing Tomorrow!

After months of planning and deliberating, my wife and I will be filing Chapter 7 tomorrow! Last week I met with about 5 different attorney's and we decided on a different one that we had originally planned on going with a few months back due to a gut feeling and a smaller fee. She spent a LONG time with me answering my questions and seemed really knowledgeable and she really felt our Ch. 7 would be "hiccup free". I took her a retainer that covered a credit report, and the 2 counseling sessions we would need on Friday. My wife and I took the first course over the weekend and we have an appointment tomorrow afternoon to pay the remainder and sign everything and I believe once that happens, we will be filed as of tomorrow or Wednesday! I wanted to say thank you to all of you that answered my questions over the past few months and offered helpful hints and tips. I will keep this thread updated with out progress! After several months of preparation we filed (husband only) last Friday (12/2). Its very freeing to get to that milestone, you feel like you are finally on your way and the countdown begins. Good luck tomorrow.

Good for you both! We filled Oct 26th and since making that decision, have felt a great wave of relief knowing we were doing the right thing. Had our meeting of the creditors this past Tuesday that went very smooth and uneventful..

Well, attorney has been paid, course completed and paperwork signed! Should be filed by this evening sometime! I just cracked a celebratory beer (saving the champagne for disharge!)
