After filling out my attorney's bk questionnaire (and talking to him), I've learned that my tax returns are incorrect for a prior year so I have to amend them.
I had a small selling business(less than 50 sales) & didn't list all sales on my sales & use tax return. My atty told me that I have unreported sales so we listed them as a creditor for the sales tax I owe them.
(I believe I also have to amend my federal & state returns to match with my amended sales tax return. & I should amend them all right? If I don't my prior federal return won't match w/ my petition's business income that yr)
I am going to have to send my tax returns to the Trustee. Should I just send him my original returns and amend my returns after my case? (or after the 341?). Or should I just amend my returns first and send him the amendments? & would it be strange for him to see that I have recently amended all my tax returns?
I feel that I am doing the right thing and amending them first, but I wanted some advice. Thanks.
