    When will it ever close?

I know discharge is everything and closing is just paperwork, but it's nerve-wracking to wait. Here's the timeline: filed CH 7 on 9/2010, discharged 1/2011. We were an asset case (2 cars owned, no loans). We bought back one car, other was sold at auction in January. Deadline for creditors to file against assets was 3/2011. Unsecured debt was small, only 3 creditors. Trustee paid creditors and himself in early June 2011 and we even got some money back, in June also, as car values exceeded unsecured debt owed. All that has happened on Pacer since is Trustee's Interim Report. "The trustee has submitted to the Office of the United States Trustee an interim report for the period ending 06/30/11. The interim report provides information concerning asset administration and an accounting of the financial activity in the case. The trustee will provide a copy of the interim report to a party in interest upon request."
Is this a normal time frame? Our attorney hasn’t responded to my inquiry. Guess the money meter ran out. Should I contact someone at the Court or just keep waiting?

I've never called the court before. Who do you ask for? I wouldn't want to bother the Trustee.

I called and asked for my case worker, she put me through to her voicemail. She called me back in less than an hour, and told me my case was being closed as we spoke. She was really nice too. Looked up on pacer, she was right, my case was closed. Certainly worth a try.

Well I took your advice. My case worker was also very pleasant and helpful. She said everything was in order as far as she could tell, but the only reason it hadn't closed was that the Trustee had not filed the Final Account. Interim report was filed in Aug. She thinks it's just the load of cases slowing him down. Then she will wait 30 days and then close it. So we will wait & wait & wait. Thanks for your replies

I know the waiting is the worst, but at least you have an idea what's going on.
