Ok, so I got the response from the billing office. They were only willing to discount bill by 40% from $794. down to $476. does this sound resonable??? Also, they will take as little as $10/mo. I guess that ain't bad...

I could write a book about health insurance. It's one of the reasons I haven't filed yet. It's insane.
However--- depending on your daughter's age and your income, you may qualify for state coverage. Promise me you will look into this IMMEDIATELY. My son has a great plan and it's free. I only wish it covered me.

I acutally applied through the hospital, then withdrew my application. I will re-apply though.

but get on the wait list immediately, and in the meantime, look into Charity Care. Perhaps they can get you emergency Medicaid or other assistance.
