Getting a car before filing

My car is now out of warranty but it is a late model (2008). Does it make sense to buy a newer car now? Or is my credit so bad that I wouldn't get a loan with a decent rate anyway (I'm guessing my score is in the low 600's by now)?

Have you filed BK already? how much do you owe on your current car vs. the current value? Have you taken a look at your credit report yet?
