Collections Agency Reporting to Credit AFTER I filed...

So I filed on 04/21/11, 341 on 05/31/11, discharged on 08/03/11 and CLOSED on 08/10/11....

I have a collections company for medical debt posting to my credit on 07/21/11....it is listed as IIB...but are they allowed to even post that to my credit report being that it is after I filed? I'd like to make it go away...

i would just depute it, i do believe they are allowed to still have them on there, but not if they weren't prior to the bk. i would dispute with the agency and see what happens.

i just did it for my SIL and got a BUNCH of things taken off his report..it upped his score over 100 points.

I will assume that the debt was incurred before you filed bk? If so, then yes it can be reported, and it is being reported correctly.

Nothing wrong with disputing, however you probably don't have any legitimate reason to do so. Just dispute and hope it falls through the cracks.

Yes, the debt incurred prior to my filing, but I dont know that it was assigned to a collection agency before then...I'm probably going to dispute it, like I did my car and another account...and the bureaus just ended up deleting the accounts completely...right along with the late payment history...doesnt hurt to try
