    Credit Counceling course

I took my pre-file credit counseling course, then filed. As for the post filing credit counseling course, do I have to take it before the 341 meeting, or only before the actual discharge? My new paralegal (apparently my law firm went through an internal restructuring. Oh joy) told me that it doesn't have to be before the 341.

It seems most of the time people do it shortly after the 341 which we did, but at the 341 our lawyer asked if we did it yet. The sooner the better as it will prevent a discharge if not done.

I just deleted my first reply. I didn't see this was in the Chap 7 forum. That was a Chap 13 answer.

I don't know the deadline to complete the course in the Chap 7. But, why not do it right away and get it over with?

Filed Chap 13 April 2010. Discharged May 2015.
$143,000 in debt discharged for $36,500, including attorneys fees. Money well spent!

My attorney said to get it done before the 341. I'm doing it this weekend. Fun!
