    Gentlemen Start Your Engines

    Hi everyone,

We remitted our retainer and picked up our questionnaire. I guess this is really going to happen.

Anyway... should the schedules (I, J, etc.) have been included with the questionnaire?

I am not sure of what your "questionnaire" is. I always suggest to a newbie, to purchase the C7 book from Nolo Press. It has all the forms in it. You can and should download your forms from your own district. Can't help more than that as I don't know what you have. 'Hub
If I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.

I guess the questionnaire is what my attorney uses to get familiar with our circumstances. Thanks for the book suggestion. I'll check it out.

when i filled out and returned the questionnaire i told my atty that i had filled out the schedules too. he told me that he didn't need them. and that he would be able to glean all the info for the schedules from the Q.

There was only a couple things that needed to be clarified that was not on the Q.

You are on a ROLL now Foofy.....

At this point, just fill out the questionaire. Once that's done, he should have an idea of the schedules.

Also, be sure to make a list of any questions you may have missed during your consult.

BTW..glad to hear your are getting started!!!

I found out that the attorney WILL be filling out the schedules based on our questionnaire. We have a meeting scheduled for August 23rd to discuss the numbers.

I had a questionnaire, too. Yes, schedules are based on the questionnaire. The questionnaire is just a list of all common expenses and you fill in what you pay monthly for your expenses. Of course, they're not etched in stone. The schedules can end up being a different amount.

Should I beef up the expenses to meet national standards?

I, too, got a lengthy packet/questionnaire from my attorney, and that is what he used. I would recommend just be completely honest on everything or, if you have any questions, you can ask here (as most of us have) but always, always ask your attorney and go with what he or she says.

How does the trustee verify the amounts on the schedules? Does he/she analyze our bank & credit card statements?
