Colorado and Case Closing Dates

I was discharged back in May, and my case is still not closed. I had dinner with an attorney friend of mine who was discharged two years ago and he told me his case is still not closed. He said he was hesitant to contact the court because he didn't want to stir things up. Has anyone else in Colorado had this issue? Is there anything we can do to speed up the closing? Will contacting the court open a Pandora's Box?
