The Purpose of the US TRustee?

    I'm wondering if:
you think that the trustee's attorney did something 'illegal'.
Can the US Trustee get involved in that, as in 'bringing it to his attention'?????

You tell little, so I can only give you a little. The U.S. Trustee, is kinda like a referee. He looks for things that are not up to the U.S. codes, or in some cases red flags that may or may not be tip offs of unusual activity. He is above your Trustee who owns your estate. He sees things that he would address probably through the Trustee, but could go above him.

I am not sure you could go direct to him or if it is proper to do so. Address your own legal representative first before you open mouth and insert foot.

Without more info, you got what I could give, my friend. 'Hub
If I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.

      Thanks, Hub,
Sorry I didn't give more info. (It seems most times I give too much ).

I realize that the Trustee and her attorney are supposed to do whatever they legally can to get as much money FOR the estate as possible.
My only asset was my house. My X motioned the court to abandon it and the Trustee objected. At that point the judge told me that
I didn't have to fight my X's motion...that the TRustee would fight it . (I didn't want the house abandoned because X, a 40% owner of it, wanted to sell it on the cheap to his shall we say 'close' friend ...and probably retain an interest in the house by funding the purchase for her). I had a right to buy out his share and had offered a contract much more than the one she offered.

So I'd rather have the Trsutee sell it for 'something' than have the house, including my 60%, given away for nothing. The something would have gone to pay any creditors due upon sale over and abovve my homestead exemption...so I would have gotten my homestead exemptoin rather than zero and the Estate would have gotten over $200,000.

After the judge said : she will fight this battle, not you I tried to give her information (appraisals, tax assessments, CMA etc) . But suddenly, and quite suspiciously, 3 days later she 'changed her mind' and decided to abandon. I see my X and his attorney in all of this becasue my X would gain if the house were abandoned out of the estate but my creditors would lose.

It seems her actions acted to take money away from the estate. So that is what I'd like someone to look at.
Unfortunately, I don't have an attorney and on my slim social security, I can't afford housing let alone a retainer.
So yep, will probably put foot in mouth!
Thanks for your help Hub. I appreciate it so much as I 've always appreciated the help I receive here.
