Okay, life is just getting better! NOT!
I'll try to sum up the situation in bullet points as it is very very very long.
- DH left job 10/09 that had Aetna insurance
- DH found new job 11/09 that had Cigna insurance
- DH found new job 2/11 that had Aetna that started on 3/11
- Found out 1st job never canceled Aetna insurance, so we've been double insured for almost 18 months and didn't know it.
- For the past couple of months I've been fighting with Aetna on who is primary, why is the other insurance is still active, ect.
- What happened is most of my medical/pharmacy bills were billed to the 1st Aetna plan which had no deductible.
- Previous employer FINALLY canceled plan and back dated it to 2/28/11 which causes all the bills to be re-submitted under new plan.
- New plan has decent deductible, $2600.
- Since I have only been paying co-pays, I now owe well over $2K to Aetna.
- Just found this all out, but most bills were pre-filing.
Obviously I don't have the money to pay that. Can I update my creditors and include Aetna? If I do that, can they drop me? What will happen with our relationship if I do? If I can include the money owed, will it still be added to my deductible?
