If you don't have cash, for gosh sakes, don't starve, it's ok to buy food on your credit cards right up till the bitter end and there's (within reason) nothing they can do about it.
I hate to see people hairshirting themselves over this stuff.
Sure don't take the gang out to Red Lobster and order the Admiral's Feast.
But groceries, gas; these things while they will not endear you to your creditors or the trustee won't cause your case to be thrown out.
Which reminds me of the famous Citibank objection against a customer's use of the card and their highlighting of a liquor store charge.
The judge said if I had to pay 29.99% I'd be driven to drink too.
Sorry to sidetrack, but what if you are using the CC to buy supplies for business and pay at least as much back into the card as that being charged? In my case, it would be a huge pain in the butt to have to have my wholesale supplier figure out shipping, send me the figure, then have me mail a check, then wait a couple days for the check to come in and then ship out supplies. Time consuming, extra communication is involved, just a royal pain when I need something that week. I know I might have to do that next year if I can't get a secured card set up in time for my busy season, but I hate to have to do that when my CC I'm using still works. Especially if I'm not adding further debt to do it as I'm paying as I go at this point.

And that is fine as long as you declare that cash asset on your bankruptcy paperwork. Because not declaring it would be considered BK fraud.

I accidentally used a credit card for groceries about one month before filing. Was never questioned on it.

I was told here not to buy my son's graduation pics... but I am doing it anyway. Will regret it forever if I don't. Won't be getting the deluxe package tho.
I can't see that as a problem! I just bought two school pics for two kids - whopping total of $46 for both of them - once per year. sorry. I think that is something any parent should do if they can!

I'm self employed, too. Could you try using debit cards? I know it's a pain but you probably will have to have something set up for after filing. None of my cards, even the ones I kept up on paying, until near the bitter end, survived.

Actually that is a good idea. It's not feasible at the moment very well, but in another month I will probably have enough funds in my Paypal account again and I did finally get a card for that a few months back as part of my prep to make sure I have a CC for my website hosting and when I switch my Netflix over right before filing. Yeah yeah, Netflix isn't a necessity, but we rarely ever go to the movies either.
