Chapter 7 complete, why do I get offers in the mail ever other day??

    Hi all,
Great support group, My chapter 7 has just been completed "Offical Closed", so that feels good, but I still can't understand why every other day I get a credit card offer for new credit, most charge about $50.00-$100 a year, but they will pull my credit report.
Got one for "First Premier Bank" said my line is $700.00; but my annual fee is $175 a year!!! WOW....and a APR of 36% if i am late it goes up to 75%; so I rip it up, as I did with the other ones...
I got a flat-No hard pull on the report, but will report to all 3!
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Russ

The Credit Card bloodsuckers know good and well that you will not be able to file another Bankruptcy for a full 8 years after your Discharge. So they are trying to suck you back into their clutches with all of their CC offers. You need to shred each and ever one of them, and learn to live and love being 'cash only'/

This is a huge temptation to those that are addicted to Credit; in many ways it is as bad as being addicted to Crack. You have to stay strong, and it is a daily struggle.

    Good luck to you!!

I started getting preapproved offers in the mail soon after filing. I think I have heard from all the ones that are not included in the BK. Somedays both my wife and I will get offers from the same bank,(great one for each of use). AngelinaCat you are 100% right about bloodsuckers, and this why the banks are in such bad shape, but why would they care when they can just get bailed out again. I just laugh at these offers and put them right in the shredder I hope to never ever own or have to use a credit card again. In the time since I gave up and stopped paying credit cards and then filed I have gotted very used to cash only and see no reason to go back to the CC hell that I have worked so hard to get out of.

LOL, NewStart11, you and I must be on the same list because I got my First Premier offer in the mail yesterday....just because we filed Bankruptcy First Premier does not mean we are not intelligent enough to spot a rip off a mile away...LOL...I shredded that offer immediately...

I am going to start fresh with no credit cards, it won't really be hard for me since I haven't used on in years....but I've heard it's good to have one to rebuild some tradelines so maybe eventually I'll get one, who knows....right now, I'm breathing easy with no credit card bills and I like it

You are now learning that the MYTH that BK means you can't get credit is absolutely false. Unfortunately, too many people destroy themselves financially (blow through savings, liquidate retirements) in fear of this MYTH in a vain effort to avoid the inevitable.

Why? Because they love you and want to help you.

Ironically enough for me....last night on cable the movie "Maxed Out" was on, it's from 2006 and I saw it along time ago, it gives opinion of the BK reforms laws the touches on the predatory tactics of credit card companies...I'm glad I caught it again since I'm now "bankrupt" I've watched it from a new prospective....

It was really strange for me to get my first "official" credit card offer yesterday from First Premier....you know the kind with the fake card inside etc.....ugh...kind of made my stomach turn.....and then I saw the annual fee and read the fine print and laughed and shredded.....

Yes, those credit card companies love us, unfortunately for them, a lot of us here in this forum have filed for divorce from them...LOL
