    Second required class - before 341 or after?

    Hello all,

    I know this has been asked, but I cant seem to come up with the correct search terms....I know I am REQUIRED to finish the 2nd education class (My attorney included the cost of the online class in my fees so I dont need to pick one) before discharge....but my question is, is it a good idea to complete it BEFORE your 341 (mine is next Friday) so that you have that certificate to give the trustee also? Or is it preferable to wait until after the 341 for any reason?

    Thanks....just might have a few hours over the holiday weekend to complete it but didnt want to do it too early if there is any issue....

    It doesn't matter as long as it is done after you file and before discharge. I did it the day after I filed to get it out of the way even though I had 5 years to discharge. The trustee won't want the certificate. It just needs to be filed with the court.

      We did ours a day or two after we had our 341.

        I have read of some trustees offering it at the 341..

          In Florida, many Trustees offer the class the same day as the 341 Meeting for free!!! However, I now think that this is only offered for Chapter 13 debtors, and not Chapter 7 debtors. (Seeing that the Chapter 7 Panel Trustee only makes about $60 per no-asset case in a Chapter 7.)

            My attorney told me to wait until the 341 is over, not sure why...but I've followed his advice.
