Good evening! I have gotten a lot of great advice and information from this site. I just wanted to report that I have officially filed for Chapter 7. It showed up on Pacer today, my 341 is scheduled at the end of June (a little farther out than I expected -- I wonder if they are extra busy?).
A few questions -- I think the trustee assigned will have to recuse himself as he was the attorney for the bank that foreclosed on my house. If I have to be assigned a new trustee, will this change my court date as well?
In Pacer, it lists my case as 'no asset' -- I was wondering if it says this because that's how my attorney (yes, I used an attorney!) filed it, or is this based on someone in the court going through my filing and deciding I will be a no-asset case? Obviously, I want to be a 'no-asset' case, but I'm figuring the actual 'no asset' I want to see is the one that shows up after the 341, right?
I guess it's good that it is officially a done deal, and now I just sit back and let the chips fall where they may. I called my mom (who knows about the bk) and told her I am officially a deadbeat -- she cheered! LOL She's been really supportive through this process (she hates I had to do it, but understands).
Good luck to all of you who are about to file, and those of you who are waiting for your 341 like me!
