After much prayer, collecting our thoughts & waiting for the right time..We met the means test paid lawyer & filed chapter 7...Got case number today...We are surrendering our home which we are upside down in at around 55k & no longer can afford it anymore..Keeping cars & moving back to Georgia...Hopefully this will pass soon...it sure has been a real source of strength to read what others have written on this site...What happens now?

In 30 days or so you will have a 341 meeting, which is a meeting of the creditors, none usually show up. There is a whole section of the site about the 341 meeting. Generally if you are a no asset case, 60 days after the 341 meeting you will be discharged. -

Yeppers, they are right above my post. When do you intend to go to GA? If I were randomly picking a place, I'd look for a state without State Income Tax. TX FL AK TN comes to mind.
