Harrasment regardiautomatic stayng state taxes during

I have about a month to go until discharge and I got a bill from the state for my past due taxes threatening wage garnishment, liens, and all that other stuff. They were including in the matrix with everyone else. Should I notify the court? or just contact the state revenue dept that sent the bill? I need these people off my back.

edit: how did I mess up that title so bad?

Did you file pro se??? If so, you have a problem "Houston"..... Most taxes and student loans are not dischargable in bankruptcy...

If not, did your attorney not tell you that most taxes are not exempt in bankruptcy? Nor can they be discharged!

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

      I did file pro se.
I know they are not dischargeable, but I believe the automatic stay still applys. The IRS has stopped bugging me...but the state won't leave me alone.

There's some verbage I remember seeing in the New Law about Non Federal, Governmental based priority tax debts. I don't remember what it said, but maybe State and Local taxing authorities can still contact you even during the stay period.

I know the New Law won't prevent evictions from happening. So the same type thing may apply to State and Local taxes as well.
