Per our attorneys suggestion, to know exactly what we were dealing with exemption wise and asset value wise, we paid to have our one asset (old boat), and our house professionally appraised by independent appraisers that attorney recommended.
If the trustee accepts these appraisals, then we are fine with exemptions.
My question is, would a trustee have any reason to conduct their own appraisals on these items to verify the value? Or would they just accept the appraisals that we will provide? The boat appraiser was an appraiser that trustees use to determine auction value, and the house appraiser is a well known and very respected local independent appraiser.
Just don't want anything to mess with our expected exemptions.
thanks
