IamOld, I am happy you will never get loans or credit cards again, except for houses or cars. The only difference is that I will not even get a loan for a house or car. I will live in junk trailer and drive a beater car. All the money I save from not paying house payments and car payments will be used to get me a better trailer with cash and an newer truck with cash. My car payment and my house payment before this BK totaled to over $1600 per month + high utilities and home repairs and yard maintenance. I figure the $2000 + that it cost me to live in a house and drive a new truck wil be $24,000 in savings account at the end of my first year. Then I will trade in my older trailer and pay cash for a $30,000 trailer. At the end of year 2, I will pay cash for a $30,000 pick up. And if employment improves anywhere in USA, I just move to where the jobs are and save more money. My 5 year goal is to live in a $90,000 fifth wheel and drive a $60,000 4 wheel drive dually diesel. All paid for with CASH!

NEVER AGAIN NEVER AGAIN NEVER AGAIN !!!!!!

Sounds good to me!! But I have kids...need a place attached to the ground :-) (I also live in a very urban metro area...) I tell you, though, I think your plan is cool, and I think you will really enjoy your life!!!

Somewhat off topic, but I heard on the radio an interview (I don't even remember what the show itself was) a couple - older couple/retired - who didn't own a house, had a fancy RV though - and they worked for a magazine for the RV "crowd" and spent their life driving around surveying campgrounds for the magazine...and getting paid for it!

      Like you said.

      Never EVER again!!!

Yeah, I plan on working as a Web Developer (can do that anywhere) and explore for gold and gemstones and do a little Treasure Hunting. I used to make good money hitting tourist spots with a metal detector. I metal detector underwater at swimming holes and on ground at old places. Stay out of sight is my motto.

          Nice.

I sense that you and I perhaps share a particular view of the world...some would call me paranoid...

That sounds like my kind of life! At least I can dream, lol.

I've got kids at home still too, but the thought of giving my house and all it's monetary entanglements...what a lovely kind of freedom that could be. Well, still could happen I suppose! I'd rather wait till my kids are out into the world.

Yeah, thank god my kids are grown, there is no way my dream could happen if I had kids..... But kids are a blessing (at least mine are), just glad they are grown.
