If so, how long after the filing did it happen? And how long was it frozen for?

Why would a bank account be frozen? Should I be worried that my checking account will be frozen? I have no connections to the bank other than the checking account, meaning no credit cards/loans etc through the bank. I just filed on Friday or very late Thursday night.Chapter 7 Filed: 04/21/2011, 341 Meeting: 05/31/2011, Report of No Distrubution: 06/02/2011, Discharged: 08/03/2011, Closed: 08/10/11

Many financial institutions freeze your accounts to stop further loss to themselves. Credit Unions especially as they are non profit orgs and member owned will do this. Banks will particularly if you have a mortgage for something. In any case, I would draw down the checking account and hold cash for expenses. Make sure you buy exempted things. 'HubIf I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.

No, but I had already changed accounts several months prior to filing to a bank in which I owed no money to. There was no reason for them to freeze my account. All information contained in this post is for informational and amusement purposes only.
Bankruptcy is a process, not an event.......
