Can a trustee go into a non-filling spouse business

My wife opened a business in the same industry I was in, 2009, but a different field.
The trustee now wants my wifes business tax returns and personal.My lawyer told me they wont look into her affairs since she is not filling, he was wrong and now this is a problem. Is my wife and 2 children protected in my bankruptcy?

The trustee cannot necessarily go after her stuff, but her income is an issue in your case in determining whether you will be chap 7 or chap 13.

Most likely, the trustee is fishing to see if any of your assets or if joint assets go to fund or were transfered to this business.
