I just looked at pacer and it says my 341 is on May 19 and that my last day for creditors to object is July 18. Since I am new and don't know what any of that means, I was hoping you could tell me since you have been through it....

Hi IHateBK - Welcome to the Forum! You have filed BK. You're now enjoying the Automatic Stay, which means a creditor cannot call you and discuss your debt with you. This is a great relief! Enjoy it! The 341 Meeting is where you will meet your trustee, and any creditors who may come to challenge your filing. 99.9% of the time, they don't come. The trustee will ask you questions, taping the conversation. Your attorney, if you have one, will be with you. There are lots of threads here on what happens at the 341. After the 341, you're in what we here at the forum call the "60 day club", the last day of objections from creditors, for you, May 18. Your discharge and new life should come anytime after that. Hi Ihatebk: Welcome to the Forum. I moved your post into a thread of it's own so that it can be seen and responded to properly.

There are many threads and 'stickies' about PACER and the process of filing and the results thereof on here. You are welcome to peruse these, and as you learn, please ask questions so the members can clarify.

Basically, the Meeting of Creditors, is the 341. This is where you will appear before your trustee, and any creditors who may wish to object. That happens almost never. Next, the 60 days, is the period that your creditors have from the date of your 341, to file an objection to the discharge of their particular debt. This also almost never happens--unless you have run up a cc bill within the last few months for a huge ticket item.

Without knowing more details of your situation, that is the best I can advise at this time. I do encourage you to go through the threads and read, read, and read some more.
