Should I apply for an upcoming summer job?

I work in a county school system and now I was looking into getting an extended school year job that would last about 6 weeks over summer break. I am very close to filing Ch. 7.(hopefully in the next week or so).
Will this affect my filing status? I am guessing that I will have my 341 in about a month. The job would not start untill the end of June but I must apply now. Also, the pay is not a lot, for it is part-time.
    Thanks!

It would depend upon how much under the median you are at the time of filing. I would ask your attorney about this, before you accept any part time position. You want to make sure that little bit of extra money doesn't put you over the median (or give you disposable income) so that you can safely file a chapter 7. Good luck!

I'm not an attorney. My replies are merely suggestions or observations, not legal advice. As always, consult with an attorney before making any decisions.

I agree you should run this by your attorney. However, I'm not sure it will have any impact. If you file within a week, your 341 should come and go before the job kicks in and therefore it will have no bearing on your means test. It could have an impact on Schedule I (projected income) but since it is only a temporary part time job I would think it shouldn't. And since it hasn't even started I'm not sure you have to include it because it could get axed before you start. Especially given the precarious nature of school jobs throughout the country. Good luck.
