We had our 341 meeting last Monday - now what?

We had our meeting last Monday and it went like a charm!

We went in and was first on the list. We didn't get to go first but we were first on the roll call. LOL!

When our name was called we went up, was asked about 10 questions then told "Good luck" and was on our way out of the court.

Now I assume we just wait?

We surrendered a motorcycle that had a lien on it must I continue to carry insurance on it. It's not on the road. The inspection and tag renewal is due on it too. I can't wait until the come to get it...that will be a sign to relax again. Anyone know how long it will take before they come?

I am so ready to just relax and let out a big sigh of relief.

    Thanks!

      1. If we had been sworn in.
      2. If we were _________ & ___________ (our names).
      3. If we had read the information our attorney had prepared.
      4. Was it true to the best of our knowledge.
      5. If we had read and understood the schedule.
      6. If we had filed our 2010 taxes.
      7. If anything had changed in our life since we had filed.
      8. If we agreed to our signature on the reaffirmation paperwork.
      9. If we wanted to add any other information.
      10. If we agreed to the filing of chapter 7 bankruptcy.

The questions varied with each person depending upon their answer. Some of the people were required to send back in paperwork on: their 2010 tax returns, one year of past bank statements, estimated value of property etc. Our case was straight forward so we did not have to supply any other paperwork.

We waited an hour and a half. The security was very tight. We were told no: scissors, cigarette lighters, knives, mace, etc. Or anything that could be used as a weapon. Anyone who had those were required to take them back to their car or throw them away. We went through a metal detector and had our purses/books/umbrellas/briefcases scanned by x-ray.

BTW - this was the western district of North Carolina

Thanks! I'm hoping that I can get by with filed extension for 2010 taxes - we owe bigtime...if we wind up with CH 13, than it'll be included in the plan, if not, if it's a 7, I'm hoping extension will be ok...do have the tax return prepared, but (and I know) if I file in Oct, the bill doesn't come until Nov, and I have 30 days to pay it. I already have a payment plan, so I'll have to come up with the money...unless it's a 13 which I think it will be.

THANKS A MILLION!!! - oh - any clues as to who had to supply bank statements and the such? one YEAR of bank statements??

As long as the cycle is sitting off road and in a garage I wouldn't think you would need to carry insurance on it or do the inspection or tag renewal. That being said until you are discharged I think you need to be protected against fire, theft. that sort of thing. I'd talk to my insurance agent and get his opinion. Once you are discharged I think it is a different ballgame because at that point you have no financial liability. Good luck.
