I had a charge off on 4 credit cards in 2007. I got a credit report last month and found a collection agency called LVfunding had purchased on of my debt. and was charging a large interest payment every month. Is this allowed? I went last week and filed chapter 7 with my tax money and am waiting further instruction. When I report my debtors does anyone know if I should include the cards that been charged off or just the collection agency that took over my accounts? Thank you for your help this is all new to me. ALso what kind of form should I put these accounts on. Thanks again.

"Charge off" is merely an accounting term. Yes, interest can accrue until the debt is paid, settled, or discharged in bankruptcy. To be safe include everyone in your creditors list when you file - collection agencies, original creditors, etc.Filed Chapter 13 02/2006 - Confirmed 05/2006 - Discharged 09/2011

You list everyone, everything, and everybody when filing chapter 7. List the original creditor and every collection agency that has ever touched it. Good luck. All information contained in this post is for informational and amusement purposes only.
