    Chapter 7 Furniture

When filing chapter 7 if I have furniture in my home that's from a rental company that I have been paying, am I able to keep it?

Also do I have to include my child's furniture?

If it's a rental company, then you do not own it. You must continue to make your rental payments if you want to keep the property. Bankruptcy won't discharge that obligation. However, if it's a contract where you can't get out of the contract, you could "reject" (cancel) the contract in the Bankruptcy. In either case, you do not have ownership of the furniture.

If you're filing pro se and asking about furniture for your children, then you may not be ready to file. That furniture is "household furniture" and should be classified as such.
      Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)
Status: (Auto) Discharged and Closed! 5/10
