My lawyer has been doing this since 1975, he really seems to be on cruise control, had us go in and bring him the stack of papers, said "In a few weeks I'll have you come back in and sign some papers and file". Anything I've asked he's gotten right back with the answer, but this answer threw me a little bit.
I started a small business two years ago when my company cut my salary 5% to try to make that 5% up, it hasn't happened yet, but it is slowly (and I mean slowly) starting to grow. An opportunity has come up to rent a space to put a store and the cost per month and the 6 mo trial lease are hard to beat.
I emailed my attorney for his thoughts and he said if we file by a certain date in the very near future I can sign the lease after that. I've read a lot on this forum but the reasoning for something like this I haven't seen. I almost expected to be told to wait until after the case was closed. Thoughts?
