NADA was it! She simply was not accepting anything other than that. It screwed up a lot of people.

Both NADA and KBB give theoretically realistic valuations on vehicles.

For me NADA had a more realistic price but here we have to use Kelly Blue Book. I still shake my head that KBB valued my 19 year old car at just $45 less than I paid for it 5 years ago - I paid 1250, KKB values it at 1205 today. Guess I got a good deal after all (right).

what is interesting is Pika and i were in the same district and KBB was in accepted when we filed...or let me re state that...by the trustee we had.

we had surrendered one car and kept the older paid in full car which KBB fair value was $8500 the car is 11 years old. we had to use our FL.."'wildcard" excemption...because we thought we were going to have to buy it back since it was over the alloted amount. our atty was good tho...and we had no furniture, nothing when we filed. we were in a rented house....that came with everything...beds, couch pots and pans.....etc. didn't own anything but the clothes on our backs at the time.

I find the whole thing strange. I did explain to my lawyer that, A) During our heavy snowstorm someone sideswiped my car and took off the driver's side, there is a LOT of rust on the car, someone else backed into it at some point and cracked the front fender - a small portion broke off totally and he still insisted KKB 'good condition' had to be used because the thing still runs. Unreal. I doubt if anyone would give me 500 for the thing.

Mine was under value for our state so it was okay but really, I don't know how they come up with these figures!
