Over a year since filing - still no close!

I got the discharge within the 90 days, so that's not the issue. I would however, like for this to be over and done completely. I'm now over a year since my filing, and my case still has not been closed. About 2 months ago there was a document that detailed that my creditors got 3% back (my case was a slight asset case), but nothing since then.

did you have an atty for your bk??? if you did, i would call the firms office and have them inquire as to what the status is.....

if you didn't ....call the court and find our first hand what is going on and why.....they will tell you. if the distributions were already completed....then it may have gone back to the trustee to sign the order...but i would call and find out how long does this take etc.

    best of luck to you!

Have all of the assets been sold, bought, or abandoned, or is there something left that hasn't been taken care of yet?

I purchased my assets (some for non-exempt luxuries, some for equity in the home above the homestead exemption) back for a few $K, officially back in August. After the trustee's commission, there was a small amount to be distributed to the creditors for a few % return.

I suppose that the trustee has to get notification that all the creditors have received the payment, properly signed and executed, etc., before the final closure of the case?

If all assets have been administered, then it is just a matter of trustee filing the final reports and asking to be dismissed and closed.

Hang in there. It took us 15 months for our case to be closed after our discharge.
