Paperwork requested by trustee - normal?

I got an e-mail from my attorney about an hour ago stating that my trustee was requesting a copy of my 2008 tax return as well as three months of bank statements up to and including the filing date.

Is this normal? Do I have anything to worry about? His e-mail didn't sound bad or negative, just paperwork being requested. But even in a no asset case that has been 'easy' so far, I get worried with every single new step.

Yep, the Florida trustees require the last two years tax returns as well as the bank statements.

Thanks! That's what I thought, but it always feel much better to hear it from someone else. I already have all the paperwork in front of me, and it will be in the mail tonight for my attorney. Are they looking for anything specific or, as you said, simply a required thing to have?

yeppers........we already knew it was going happen so our atty didn't want us too...but we submitted 3 years of tax returns and 1 year of bank statement...but the trustee office still asked for other paper work....you know we are "special" here in florida...

Here in MN you always have to submit at least 2 years of income tax returns and sometimes more. We also have to submit 6 months of bank statements.

Thanks to everyone. I was not all that scared when my attorney advised me he needed the information, but I was, well, a little scared at the same time. Seems as though this is typical. It's waiting in the mailbox to be picked up tomorrow. Scared = gone.

.... not....went to pt...with this mirco fractures which i had NO idea about i have hundreds of fractures in my knee... and it was explained every time i get up i put pressure on them and break more... so i was given a few excersises and told SIT or LAY still......ok........i'm not exactly...

We just got an email a few minutes ago, the UST asking for cc statements (only-not checking acct statements, i wonder why not those?) from jan 09-jan 11. I was so overwhelmed for a second....but i printed it out and signed it. The only activity on the cards was from jan-june 2009....so I hope this wouldnt be a problem...we defaulted in may/june of 09, and havent used the cards since. This on top of staying home sick today....ugh. We're in florida too. My dad said he had the same thing happen to him back in '05...so is this a common request from the UST?

My understanding is that credit card statements are not a normal item.

Are you represented by an attorney, it sounds to me like the trustee is looking for running up of charges and/or property purchases on credit but not listed on the schedules?

CC statements sounds a little strange from what I have heard from others. But it would be normal in your area, things are different everywhere. How close to median are you? it could also be checking for expenses claimed on your forms?

Yes, we are represented by an atty. there was activity for 6 months, charging-and paying..up until we defaulted, and the rest of the term was quiet, other than fees, interest rates jacked up and charge off's. We have had no use or activity since may/june 09 in terms of using and we waited till jan 11 to file. of course, interest kept accumulating...so i dont know. we purchased diapers, groceries, you know, stuff we would need, we struggled, but once we slipped, the banks really nailed us on the apr's, so we had no chance to get back up.
