Is this correct??? Discover/citi/amx showing $0.00 before 341 meeting

    Hi All,
    I am lost; I filled 2/17/11; meeting 3/17/11
    but my creditors-
Citi- 1 of 2 cards; other one charge off-have been updated to $0.00 blanace; not past due any more; was $18399
Citi- 2 of 2 still showing past due...$16399 charged off past due $3177
AMX 1 of 2 cards; one shows balance $0.00
AMX 2 of 2 cards; Show current balance of $7k
Disocver 1 of 2 cards show; $0.00; not past due anymore, was $13646
Discover 2 of 2 cards show past due $66
What should I make of this????? Is this good for my case?
    Thanks

Credit report data does not affect the legality of collecting a debt, regardless if it says charge off or balance zero. Just make sure that within 60 days or so they have updated to say "included in BK" on your credit report.

    Good luck

Yes, it is normal for credit cards to update the CC report after getting the notice of filing, but as was already pointed out, a credit report is not a legal document that is evidence of the actual status of a debt.

            Hi NewStart,

I suspect the speed of the credit report changes has to to with electronic noticing or an automated process that means one less job the cc company has to outsource.

Like BK and HHM said, the credit report means nothing the the BK case. And check it again a month or so past discharge. Make sure any acct closed in the BK reads like the Amex entry you posted. (but if for some reason an acct is reporting open and in good standilng, leave it alone)

Credit reports are a nice bit of fiction used to determine who gets the best interest rates from companies who don't really care who you are anyhow.

my 2 cents.....probably worth half that...
