And the award of DISCHARGE goes to. . . CLEVELANDMOM!! <APPLAUSE> . . . .
I am so touched an honored to receive this award. I would like to thank the members of the Academy. . . or more specifically, Chase, Citibank, and Bank of America . .for had it not been for you, and your insane greed, I wouldn't be standing here receiving this award today.
Life is so full of lessons, and the one you have taught me is that greed really does not pay. Thank you Chase for reducing my limit by $6,000 and not telling me, and then charging me over-limit fees, tripling my minimum payment, and then increasing my interest rate over 30%. Thank you for not bothering to work with me to pay down the balance when I respectfully informed you that I could no longer pay the minimum thanks to your greed, or over the course of the following year when my husband got laid off. Your constant phone calls to remind me that I hadn't made my payment yet was very thoughtful.
And thank you Citibank for being not only a follower of Chase, but a leader in suing me. For it was you that forced me to seek out a bankruptcy lawyer. Had it not been for you, Citibank, I might still be extremely naive in believing that it's better to continue to take it up the rear-end by trying to pay your ridiculous fees and play by your unfair rules then to file bankruptcy. Filing Bankruptcy was not only a far better option, but far less painful then I ever could have imagined.
So I will take this discharge notice to bed with me tonight, tucked cozy under my pillow, and sleep comfortably knowing that you motherless rat bastard credit card companies will be receiving your copy tomorrow, and you can take your credit cards, fees and interest rates and shove them all where the sun don't shine!!!
