Last things I'd like to do before filing...

... Is buy some bulk food items.

Do you all think it matters if I buy the bulk groceries online? As long as I can print out the receipt and prove this it is non perishable food? I see some great deals on Amazon for dried fruits and nuts... besides that doing bulk at Sam's club is out, cuz umm, er.... we kinda messed up with them 3 yrs ago so they're a creditor.

Do you think it will be looked at differently than going somewhere locally?

I would not worry about Sam's Club. We included them (Sam's Club Discover Card) in our Chapter 13 and still shop there almost 3 years later. We have renewed our membership every year with zero problems.

Actually, I am worried that the trustee will think it strange if I get food from Amazon... but I guess it is more of matter of what I got and not where I got it from.

No, don't worry about Amazon. Storeable, non-perishable food is a good plan. Don't forget the things that get forgotten: i.e., toilet paper, paper towels, soaps, laundry detergent, dish detergent, shampoos, toothpaste and toothbrushes.....

        Good luck!

          Thank you Angelina...

I actually ordered the food after reading your thoughts, then I noticed that Amazon can go back more than one year, and show me everything that I have ordered! Cool because I can show that it has never been with credit and never any kind of luxury item. YAY!

Here's another funny thing about some states - There is a MAX amount of food that you can claim exempt. (I feel sorry for all the mormons that file....just a little Ut joke, there...)
