Petition filled, now what can I expect

Hi all,
My Petition was just filed; now what is next?
Will I have the FBI or local police at my door step?
And what does it mean that the check box "debtor estimates that after any exempt property is excluded and admin paid, here will be no funds for unsecured creditors.-
what does that mean and how will it effect my case???

Suggestion: Purchase the C7 book from Nolo Pres downloaded in pdf. Also read all the stickies on C7 forum.

Basically, about a month or so 341 meeting, no big deal. Bring picture ID and SS card no other thing will do. Bring anything else the lawyer feels you need. Dress properly and respectful. Answer only yes, no, and don't volunteer additional info. DO NOT LIE in any case. It will last 5 to 15 minutes. You are under oath. Sixty days pass for any kind of creditor objections. 10 days pass for any objections from the UST. United States Trustee, not your local Trustee. Make no money or property transfers or purchased of anything not exempt.

Normally, if no assets you then will be discharged of your debts and the case will be closed. That's it in a nutshell. 'Hub

EDIT: No, no FBI or that kind of trauma. It is more laid back than you think UNLESS, you attempt to play any games with the system. Then it can become uncomfortable.

I did not file, my lawyer did. Does that mean I am less likely to get singled out or more?

No, dear, the attorney filed in YOUR name.

If you were given the opportunity to review your paperwork before YOU signed it and handed it to the attorney to file, and everything was correct, then you have nothing to worry about.

Please have one glass of wine, and then go to bed and get a good night's sleep. It is out of your hands now.

Will I have the FBI or local police at my door step? ...depends, do you have a black ski mask and a pistol in your car trunk?

Newstart, I'm in the same boat with you. Filed a few weeks ago, now waiting to get notification from my trustee on "what" further documents they would like before my 341 meeting. It's been a couple of weeks and still haven't heard anything. I guess from here on out it's the "waiting" game... Hang in there and we'll get through this and know, you're not alone - this board is great place to go for even moral support while you are waiting... or to read a good humored answer from Tom

Yeah, just got my 341 meeting it's the middle of March....Then they have till 5/16 is flight, and guess I am home free after that??
But either way, it's a great form, it's a hard move to do, but it should clean up my credit file, it's a mess; discharging over $88k; all Credit card.....Hope life will be better after all is done with.

I am just worried about how life will be after; getting serious about starting a family and meeting someone, but having this, can be the deal breaker; and for a new job; och, I am worried about that.....
On the bright side, I have a saftey net, if needed, but hope I will never have to use that; 36 and having to live back with parrents, och!!!!
