Changing the child support from one bank to
Another should be a nightmare. I don't understand
Why they can take your money after u file, that seems
            Really messed up to me.
Believe me, I understand about the pain of changing child support. I have found that it is faster if I send the change in the day after I receive a child support payment. This way, they have a full 2 weeks to process the change.

I filed for chapter 7 with over 1.2 M in debt including over 100K in CC debt from about 8 banks, including a $10,000 maxed out Wachovia CC which was linked (i.e. overdraft protection) to my Wachovia checking account. When I filed BK I got a letter from Wachovia stating that they were cancelling my CC. That was the extent of their communication with me on the BK matter, and I had absolutely no disruption in my banking. I still have the account as my primary account (I filed 11/09 and closed 2/10). Perhaps I was lucky.

I don't know much about Wachovia but the horror stories about Wells Fargo scared me enough to get out. The $11 I have in there will be good for about 3 1/2 gallons of gas.

Today I brought in all my paperwork and when the attorney's assistant went over them with me, he said - Uh, most people leave their money in the bank. I told him it was hidden all over my house (I have about 1500 from not paying bills) but I did put 200 back in my new bank, for bills.

He's positive we'll get everything exempted because I am still on unemployment and from my income taxes, it's quite obvious how much less I have to work with (for some reason they wanted 4 years).

LOL!! it's funny since we most always ONLY use cash now ...when i get a $100 bill out ...the clerk at the store holds it up to the light....puts a yellow inked pen marker on it....tastes it...or really licks it..LOL!!!!!! asks for id.....asks where my first child was born...

after usually going through all this ...i tell the store clerk i just made the bill that morning and it's completely dry and store friendly....i can see the wall paper now...LOL!!! really how funny would that be!

You are too funny. Actually, in my neighborhood there are some characters I wonder about so whatever I have - some is in computer manuals, some is in feminine products, etc. Places I'm fairly certain no one would look. And 1500 may not be much but it's the most I've had since I became unemployed. So, no wallpaper, LOL.

And yes, Tobee, I finally decided on a lawyer and paid in full, went through the pits of gathering all the paperwork and probably was anal about my asset list. I included everything that was of any value at all. But boy, was I surprised when some of my "treasures", Ives & Currier plates, Saturday Evening Post mugs, etc. were priced on Amazon at 15-25 dollars for the lot. Huh! To me they are priceless, but guess that's just me. I sure wouldn't part with them for that small amount.
