High on rent, low on utilites

I tried searching to find this but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for-

If you are high on rent and low on utilities when compared to the local standard do you get the benefit of netting them if together they are below the standard?

So lets say you don't and if the trustee adds back the rent overage it puts you at $200 a month positive dmi.

So they say you have to pay your creditors. So you have to move?

You need to search for another place to account for $200 a month. Take the IRS standard on the utilities, even if it's lower than what you pay, for example. Did you account for all medical bills, or personal expenses like drycleaning? How about pets? Are you taking the standards for all the expenses that let you take standards?

You're lucky that it's only that much. Our trustee is trying to kick back our rent... we filed at $1725, IRS says our standard should be $1000- and that's for a family of 8. We're arguing it. There's no way we can make up $725 in other areas.
Ch 13 filed 06/22/09. Dismissed, thankfully, 03/31/10. Ch 7 filed 06/28/10. 341 07/29/10. UST POA 08/06/10. UST mot to dismiss hearing extended to Dec...Feb...March...May...Aug. UST withdrawal of dismissal filed 05/31! DISCHARGED 07/12/2011!

Olivies-I remember your case-sorry you got stuck with your trustee-from what you posted seems like she should have backed off. I'm trying to get to positive so I can reaffirm my car w/o an issue but if I get too positive I think the diff in rent and the standard could be too much. Ugh.
