The Bk should not affect federal financial aid, Perkins, Stafford, Direct loans, those are need-based. Private ed loans and PLUS loans are based on credit history so those are probably out of the picture....which is a good thing! And keep student loans to an absolute minimum. All these end up as an anchor around the neck you regret later...

As Tom said, the Bk will disqualify you from the Parents Plus Direct Loans, shouldn't affect the student. In fact if you are denied, they qualify for several thousand more. I am going through this with my kids right now.
