Hi Everyone,
I wanted to share where I am now - it was fine folks on this forum that helped me have the strength and courage to file and the support I received during all phases of my BK was just unimaginable.
Here's a quick timeline:
Jan 2010 I was laid off from my job
April 2010 Stopped paying CC's and retained attorney
July 2010 Filed Ch 7
Aug 2010 341
Nov 2010 discharged
And one year later:
Have a very well paying job about to start - BK was not an issue in the background check
Received a post-BK unsecured Credit Card - $300 limit and crappy APR and annual fee; but it's a step to rebuilding my credit score.
I've also learned how to live strictly on a cash-only basis and still put money in my savings. I had to make some lifestyle sacrifices, but in the end it is going to make me a much happier, productive person.
Thank you again to everyone here for their wisdom and knowledge that they shared.
Been doing the hamster dance daily!
