Proof of claim: to dispute or not dispute?

I listed some old IRS tax debts as dischargeable (which they are, according to Nolo) and the IRS filed a proof of claim that includes the discharged debts.

Should I respond to the proof of claim in any way? I'm filing without an attorney. The bankruptcy estate has some money in it for creditors.

    Thanks!

If you have assets and the IRS filed a proof of claim THEY have first access to your assets........ before any creditors, they have priority....
Would I bother filing anything, NO......... their going to take it anyways.....

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
