Can I be forced into a chapter 13?

If for whaterver reason the trustee doesnt approve my chapt 7 petition can they force me into a 13 or do I get to choose if I want to get into a 13?

Your "choice".
Keep in mind, if a trustee determines you have assets like excess equity in a house that can be liquidated and you don't agree to convert to a 13 the trustee does not have to dismiss your Chapter 7. He/she can then begin to liquidate assets that can't be exempted and your Chapter 7 proceeds.

Hi BKIN2010,

Can't force you, you get to chose to convert. And they can't dismiss your Ch7 b/c they don't like the color of your shoes, there are specific reasons a Ch 7 gets dismissed.
