Using a debit card

I know that if you write a check and it doesn't clear before you file that it is considered in the bank. What about use of debit cards? My bank shows:

Previous balance 1000

Pending transaction 600

Available balance 400

Anybody have this come up?

I would use the available balance and not worry about it.

On my statements, depending upon the transaction, it can take up two days to "post" a pending transaction to my account. When the money clears pending is what show on my final bank statements. (for example pending on Feb 1st - transaction day on final statement shows Feb 3rd). I'm sure each bank can be different. I am making sure all clear entirely before filing. You may want to look back at how they've cleared previously on you statement in the past. Hope this was helpful!

Use the available balance, that is the $ that is still yours.
