    Bank of America - 1099

Our bankruptcy was discharged and closed since Dec. 2009. In today's mail, I received a 1099 from Bank of America for the amount that was discharged in our BK, and stating that it was discharged in bankruptcy. Has anyone ever seen that?

There are several threads on this, posted today. Search for them. I do not know how to supply a link.

There is no "forgiveness of debt income" for debt that was discharged in a bk and the 1099 has the correct box marked.

Thanks so much. This was for our broke business that folded. The most annoying thing to me is that our BK was discharged and closed in 2009. I think that they are a day late and a dollar short! My accountant will do whatever forms need to be filled out.
