    2nd Mortgage settlement

    All,
I have decided to send back to PNC the financial docs they are asking for. I decided that even if they do come back with a "no" on settling with me I really have nothing to lose. At this point they won't even consider my proposal without these docs so I figured I just want this over. I will fax over to them my tax returns from 2009 and a short list of my current finances along with a bank statement. I'm only offering the $5,000 so it won't change if they come back with a no. I will keep you up to date as to the outcome. Wish me luck. I will be faxing everything tomorrow so they will get what they "need" as quick as possible.

I was told by Green Tree they needed my financial information to consider my settlement offer also. I told them I was advised, due to my discharge of the debt, I did not need to supply financial information to them and my settlement offer should stand alone. They backed down and settled without my financials. I really don't see why your financial situation is relevant considering the debt has been discharged and you don't owe them a dime. I feel like these lenders want to see how far a person is willing to go to try and save their property. Then, based on that, they try to squeeze more money out of you. As I've said many times, I think the key is to let the lender think you really don't care if the house goes to foreclosure. This is what you are willing to do. Then they have two choices...take it or leave it.

I sincerely wish you luck in settling your 2nd. Keep us informed.
